Adjusting Sensitivity & Dead Zone in MSFS

Every single controller, no matter the manufacturer, has natural variation in its return to center point for a thumb stick. You’re dealing with a very small travel area compared to a traditional joystick or yoke. The same is true for our patented rudder triggers, as well.

The way this accounted for in use is through small dead zones that can vary widely depending on the hardware or your personal preference. For the Arrow, we took extremely deliberate care to ensure a small dead zone given the precision designed into the controller.

We deliberately excluded a firmware based dead zone from the design, and instead made sure our users could adjust within the software to their preference to ensure maximum comfort and precision. We recommend anywhere a 2% to 5% dead zone selection inside of the Sensitivity options under Controls for your Yawman Arrow for the X (roll/aileron) and Y (pitch/elevator) thumbstick axes and the Z axis (yaw/rudder). We recommend SimFlight Hangar’s tutorial guide on each of the individual attributes within the controller sensitivity selections.
