Adjusting trim wheel sensitivity & speed
X-Plane, MSFS and Infinite Flight handle trim control differently and we’ve had to tailor our hardware and firmware to work well with all out of the box. The onboard firmware can be adjusted to speed up or slow down the trim wheel.
Since the multifunction wheel interfaces as two button presses, different flight simulators will interpret the press in different ways. The controller’s default settings have been particularly optimized for Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane 12 with a duration value of 140. The default value is set at 140 on a scale of 5 to 500.
We designed it so you can change the wheel's speed and sensitivity right in the sim while you’re plugged in, so you don’t have to quit out and start again to test each value and see which works most comfortably to your liking.
Adjusting the sentitivity requires holding down two of the six pack buttons at once and entering a 16-digit 0-1 sequence. Refer to this document here for instructions to adjust the speed of the wheel.
STEP 1: To adjust the trim sensitivity, select a desired value from 5 to 500 then open up Game Controllers in Windows or any joystick utility in MacOS. |
STEP 2: Press and hold the two buttons (in red) below, the joystick screen will show no buttons being pressed. |
STEP 3: The two blue buttons below represent 1 and 0. Input the sequence while still holding the two buttons in red. (The buttons 1-16 on the joystick screen should populate as each of the 16 1s or 0s are pressed in order.) |
STEP 4: Save the configuration by pressing the four buttons in red below. |
